The fullback also said "everyone makes their own decisions and you have to respect them"

Barcelona full back Jordi Alba would like Real Madrid to give his team a guard of honour before El Clasico next week, although he knows that coach Zinedine Zidane has declared his team will not do it.

“In our case, Barça would do the guard of honour," Alba said.

"Barcelona have done it before to Madrid, they did it in 2008 at the Bernabeu but everyone has to take their own decisions and you have to respect them."

Alba also said Barça deserve a lot of credit for winning the double.

"We have done it very few times and it's very difficult to achieve," he added.

He also defended Valverde from the criticism the coach got after the Champions League defeat to Roma.

"It's a disgrace (the criticism) and the players need to stand up and admit that we all make mistakes. Valverde deserves this more than anyone. He has managed the dressing room perfectly," he said.

"The Roma defeat annoyed us a lot but we've had a very good season, we have won the double. Roma was a difficult moment, but it should not erase what we have achieved in the last week."
