Jordi Alba says Barcelona were "spot on" to sign Paco Alcacer, whom he has known for 16 years.
"I see Paco Alcacer very calm and excited. I've known him for 16 years, he's a good friend of mine and he's a great signing. We will give us a lot, although the three forwards he has ahead of him are the best in the world. He's a player with a lot of goals, he will work hard and Barcelona were spot on to sign him," explained Alba in a press conference after Spain's 2-0 win over Belgium.
Alba was asked about Diego Costa and defended the Chelsea man. "I respect all opinions. He knows why he said it. To me it doesn't seem good or bad. The team are with him, he's important, he gives us a lot and if he scores or not it doesn't matter. He does exceptional work and we are happy to have him with the national team."
"Anyone can think what they want. Many things seem injust for me, but this is part of football and you have to accept it. The best way for him to defend himself is playing like yesterday, when he had a great game. You have to feel good about what you do and I think, and the rest of the squad does, he had a great game, although he didn't score, which doesn't matter."
