The ex and potentially future president's thoughts on the Argentine's mega money deal

The leak of Leo Messi’s contract in El Mundo has been a spark in Barcelona’s world. The club published a statement about it and the player will sue who leaked it as well as the newspaper.

One of the other voices speaking about the story is former (and possible future) Barcelona president Joan Laporta.

SPORT have earned that he does not want to make any public comments on the issue but he thinks, above all, Messi is a key player for Barca and also generates a lot of funds for the club, and if he earns the number stated (555 million euros) then it’s because he deserves it.

Laporta has always been in favour of keeping Messi at the club and recently said he wants to find a deal that helps him stay beyond this summer when his mega-contract ends.

The former president said he will not speak today about the issue but maybe on RAC1 he will talk about it on Monday, when they interview him at 10.30.
