Joan Laporta: This week we will present Dembele and Raphinha
The president is excited to have the two skilful wingers on the books for next term
Barcelona president Joan Laporta arrived in Olot on Wednesday afternoon, where he will have the first meeting of the board in the 2022-23 season. Four hours later, he will attend the first pre-season game, against UE Olot.
Laporta arrived shortly after the club published the news that they were signing Leeds winger Raphinha.
“We will present Dembele and Raphinha (this week),” said Laporta, although he did not elaborate. The French winger has agreed a new two year deal after his last contract expired.
Raphinha, meanwhile, should arrive in Barcelona later on Wednesday to sign his deal and pas his medical. Both players will be on the tour of the USA scheduled for pre-season.
“We’re doing well,” said Laporta of his team’s work in the market. “We are doing all we can. It’s not easy but we’re working very well. I’m happy for how the football department is working, Mateu Alemany, Jordi Cruyff and all their team. Tomorrow we will have more time to talk. Today we’ve come to play a game against Olot.”
