The club have already brought in Eric Garcia, Aguero, Memphis and Emerson

Speaking before Barcelona confirmed the signing of Memphis Depay on Saturday, Joan Laporta said the club will make up to four more signings this summer.

The Barca president has already completed deals for Sergio Aguero, Eric Garcia and Memphis to arrive on free transfers, while the club paid €9 million to recall Emerson from Real Betis.

"We're going to make a really competitive team," Laporta said. "We're seeing that with the signings of Eric Garcia, Aguero and Emerson and other players (Memphis) are close."

However, one signing slipped away, with Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum choosing Paris Saint-Germain over Barça.

"Last week one (signing) escaped us," Laporta added. "There are State-owned clubs that can have any player. It something we have to analyse."

Laporta also spoke about the decision to keep Ronald Koeman on as coach.

"After speaking three times with him, I saw that we could work together, collaborate and coincide on many things," Laporta said.

"I am happy. I would have liked it if things didn't happen as they did, I even told him that. I don't like to suffer or make people suffer and maybe Ronald was uncomfortable for a period there... me, too.

"I was disappointed because I saw (La Liga) as won. I told him I didn't understand why we had lost it. I think this whole process has been good for our relationship. And it's important for the coach and president to have a good relationship."
