Joan Laporta on the Frankfurt ticket shambles: The system worked until it was overloaded

The president was speaking on Tuesday morning about the issues in the Europa League clash

Joan Laporta said the club’s system was overloaded and that was to blame for German fans filling Camp Nou in Barcelona’s defeat by Eintracht Frankfurt.

After the breakdown of the tickets sold, Laporta said that the management and sale of 29,435 tickets had some control mechanisms that were operating, like not allowing German credit card to buy them, but from Germany there were more than eight attempts to buy them and it overloaded the system. Laporta also blamed groups and specialists in buying and reselling tickets for getting hold of them.

Laporta say over 27,201 attempts from Germany were counted trying to buy tickets. He also blamed the system “inherited from the previous board”. He also said one tour operator was running an illegal operation and Barcelona will take their contract away.
