Joan Laporta: I'm not contemplating a Leo Messi 'no'
The president spoke about the situation of the Argentine star's contract

“Barca’s history is written through the figure of Leo Messi, this ambition, winning character. It’s art because he has a style that identifies him, his prodigious technique… incomparable. You want to fall in love again,” said Laporta.
The Argentine ends his Barca contract at the end of June and his future is not decided.
“I am calm, his boots will stay on the Camp Nou turf,” said Laporta. “I’m not contemplating or thinking about a ‘no’ from Messi. It’s not simple because he’s the best player in the world and there are many teams after him with better economics, but on that he has made it easy.
“The idea is that it happens as soon as possible, it suits both sides. We are confident. We won’t put a date on it but I’d like it if it was June 24, my saint and his birthday, or 29, which is my birthday. Doing it before the socios assembly would be great but right now I can’t guarantee anything.”
