Just turned 19, he has played 10 games for Toulouse and agreed to sign for Barca

Jean-Clair Todibo is an unknown for Barcelona fans. Born in French Guiana on December 30, 1999, the 1.89m tall defender has played just 10 games in his professional career.

He made his debut on August 19 against Bordeaux for Toulouse and since then has become essential in the middle for coach Alain Casanova. As SPORT revealed, Barca have practically sealed his signing.

Barcelona have signed him for free and he will arrive in June. Toulouse met the player to sign his first professional contract but were met with an unexpected response. For weeks they negotiated but Todibo’s high demands were not matched by the club. He played his last game on November 3 and since then the situation has broken completely so he has not played.

Jean-Clair has played 10 games and scored one goal, nine as a starter. Even though he is just 19 he plays with maturity. He was more of a leader in the pair than his defensive partner Christopher Jullien, 25. Todibo is good in the air, quick, powerful and has a lot of room to improve. Above all he needs to get better on a tactical level and in bringing the ball out.

After refusing to sign on, he has been separated from the team and this inactivity could hurt him. In the end Barca nabbed him before Lyon and Juventus who were interested.
