Javier Tebas responds to Barça vice president's interview with SPORT
The LaLiga chief took to Twitter to send a message to Eduard Romeu
LaLiga president Javier Tebas has taken to social media to send a reply to the interview Barcelona's vice president Eduard Romeu did with SPORT on Wednesday.
Romeu spoke about Messi, explaining that Barça "couldn't afford" to keep him and criticising LaLiga's deal with CVC, which he says was the only way the Catalan club could have kept the Argentine. However, they refused to sign the deal, along with Real Madrid and Athletic Club.
"It was a poisoned present that from the financial department of the club we recommended not to accept," Romeu told SPORT of the CVC deal and its link to Messi's renewal.
Tebas has responded on Twitter, "clarifying" that the CVC deal did not mortgage off Barça's television rights and once again attacking the club's push for a European Super League.

"Clarifiaction, Mr. Romeu
"1- We repeat (once again): CVC is not a financing operation. It cannot be compared to [Barça's loan from] Goldman Sachs. That is a case of mortgaging of your television rights for 10 years.
"2- With your Super League, LaLiga clubs would lose €22 billion in television rights in the next 10 years."
