The former Argentina forward has been linked with a Camp Nou job

After Rafa Marquez, who will take over Barça Atletic next season, replacing Sergi Barjuan, Javier Saviola could be the next former player to return to Barcelona this summer.

According to Relevo, the Argentina is being primed for a coaching role with one of the youth teams at the club's La Masia academy.

Saviola, who is currently coaching FC Ordino in Andorra, has a great relationship with Barça's first team coach Xavi Hernandez, who he played alongside at Camp Nou.

Per the cited report, the aim is for Saviola to get familiar with how La Masia works. At 40, the ex-forward could return to the club that catapulted him into European football.

He played for Barça between 2001 and 2007, although was loaned out on two occasions, to Monaco and Sevilla. In total, he played 172 times for the Blaugrana, scoring 72 goals and assisting 31.
