Carles Tusquets has taken the decision to remove Bartomeu's former right-hand man

Carles Tusquets, the president of the managing committee in charge of overseeing the running of Barcelona until a new president is appointed, has begun to take decisions.

According to La Vanguardia, one of the first he's executed has been the sacking of Jaume Masferrer. Masferrer had been acting as an advisor to the president and was supposedly implicated in the whole 'Barçagate' affair having been responsible for the hiring of I3 Ventures, the company which smeared current and former Barça players on social media.

Tusquets and the managing committee have deemed Masferrer's functions surplus to requirements given there is no longer a president or a board of directors to advise. The club communicated the decision to him on Friday.

AUDIT

Masferrer, Bartomeu's right-hand man, was suspended earlier this year with pay when an investigation was launched into the 'Barçagate' saga.

However, after an external audit by Price Waterhouse Coopers suggested there had been nothing amiss to Masferrer's dealings with I3 Ventures, he returned to work.

Tusquets and the managing committee have now removed him from his role, though, as they look to recude the club's outgoing prior to a new president being elected within 90 days.
