January a key month for Denis Suarez and Munir's futures

The Galician could be on the way to the Premier League, while the Moroccan is free to go

FC Barcelona reinforced their squad with the loan of Jeison Murillo, and now they have to think about Denis Suarez and Munir El Haddadi's futures, two very different cases.

Denis and Munir returned to Barcelona hoping to cement themselves in the team but were not able to convince Luis Enrique or Munir El Haddadi.

Denis turns 25 on January 6, and has only taken part in six games out of 26 official matches. 221 minutes out of 2,340. He has started once, in the Copa against Cultural Leonesa - and paid the coach back with two goals. But the reality is that he is behind a bunch of players, including new signings Arthur and Arturo Vidal.

With a contract until June 2020 and a release clause of 50m euros, Denis has suitors like Chelsea, Milan and Marseille. Milan want to loan him, while Chelsea and another London side, Arsenal, want to buy him.

THE CASE OF MUNIR

Munir's situation is different because his contract expires in June 2019. Barcelona tried to negotiate over a new deal but one was not reached. Munir has good offers from elsewhere. He's 23, and clubs in Spain, the Premier League and Serie A are interested.

Injuries have allowed Munir to have a bit more game time than he might have, 392 minutes in 11 games with 2 goals and 1 asist. It's unlikely he will sign for a new club in January because if he moves in the summer he can pick up a fat signing-on fee. Valverde will likely have him until the end of the season.
