The midfielder was injured while on international duty with Croatia

Ivan Rakitic is targetting Barcelona's Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven on Nov. 28 for his return to action.

Rakitic injured his hamstring in Croatia's 3-2 win over Spain last week and missed their UEFA Nations League game against England on Sunday,

He returned to Barcelona at the weekend where he underwent tests, which confirmed he was suffering from a hamstring problem.

The club have not confirmed how long he will be out for but there is optimism that he won't be sidelined for long.

Rakitic will miss the game against Atletico Madrid on Nov. 24 regardless because of a suspension, which means there's not too much panic about rushing back.

The midfielder, in fact, has an eye on next week's Champions League game in Holland, although with Barça already through to the last 16 there's no need to push him.

A lot may depend on the fitness of another player. Philippe Coutinho is also currently out of action and Ernesto Valverde's waiting to see when he will be back.

If Rakitic doesn't play against PSV, he should be ready to face Villarreal on Dec. 2 at Camp Nou.
