Ivan Rakitic: I want to return soon to play my 300th game with Barca

The Croatian player spoke online to fans during the break for coronavirus

Ivan Rakitic finds himself, as well as his team-mates, at home with his wife and kids, trying to do the best he can in the coronavirus crisis. He's taking it in the best humor he can and he enjoyed an online chat with fans around the world to help pass the time.

"The truth is that it's altered everything in life although I recognise that I miss the rest of my team-mates, training and being close with people," said Rakitic.

He said he's really looking forward to the normality of life coming back, "to fight for the objectives" that the team has, but also one personal one. "I want to return to play my 300th game for Barcelona," he said. "I knew that it was close but not so close." He has played 299.

On training at home, he said: "Each fitness coach works with a group of players and we're in daily contact although I have my routine at home in my gym. Regarding food, it's not the same, in the club we had a chef but I have a spouse who loves it and I do my things too and we enjoy making recipes."

He says he "only goes out to throw away the trash 50 metres away."
