It's raining money in Poland thanks to Robert Lewandowski
The striker is moving to Barcelona and there's a knock-on effect back in his homeland
It’s not just Barcelona who are happy with the arrival of Robert Lewandowski. Plenty of others in Poland will benefit.
The forward’s move leaves 2 million euros to different clubs in his homeland as part of money for his formation rights.
Polish football accounts are explaining that Legia, Lech, Znicz Pruszkow, Delta Warsawa and Varsovia will all earn money.
Le transfert de Lewandowski c’est aussi un petit peu (beaucoup) d’argent pour les clubs polonais par où il est passé :

Legia : 250k€
Lech : 500k€
Znicz Pruszkow : 500k€ (D3 🇵🇱)
Delta Warszawa : 125k€ (D7 🇵🇱)
Varsovia : 625k€ (club formateur/académie) pic.twitter.com/8jkv4HUyJx
Varsovia, the academy where he was formed will get the most, at 625k. Lewandowski was already a national hero, but even more so for those clubs now.
He arrived at Bayern in 2014 from Borussia Dortmund, who paid Lech 4.75m in 2010 for him.
Lech brought him for 380k from Znizic. In total, before joining Barcelona, his career transfer cost was just 5.15 million euros, per Transfermarkt.
