The Frenchman's tough season continued with a big mistake against Cadiz

Clement Lenglet's worst season at Barcelona, by a mile, continues to have negative consequences for Ronald Koeman's side.

The French defender gave away an absurd and unnecessary penalty against Cadiz on Sunday, kicking through Ruben Sobrino when there appeared to be little danger.

Alex Fernandez scored the penalty for Alvaro Cervera's side in the final minute of the game to earn them a memorable 1-1 draw at Camp Nou.

Not even the return of Gerard Pique has helped Lenglet this past week.

List of mistakes

Lenglet has now made several errors this season that have cost Barça points. There was another one in the first meeting with Cafiz this season in the south of Spain, when he had a misunderstanding with Marc-Andre ter Stegen at a throw-in and Alvaro Negredo ghosted in to score.

Cadiz won the game 2-1, Barça's last defeat in La Liga.

The season had got off to a bad start for Lenglet in Vigo, when he was sent off for stopping Denis Suarez getting past him, leaving Barça with 10 men for over 45 minutes.

However, on that occasion, Barça didn't allow the numerical disadvantage to count against them and won the game, although the same didn't happen when Lenglet gave away a penalty in the Clasico.

The France international was penalised for pulling Ramos' shirt by VAR. It was harsh but it was given and it effectively won the game for Madrid. A season to forget.
