The Italian side want to loan him for six months with an option to buy

Barcelona's 'operation exit' is underway. The management committee in charge of the club are trying to get four or five players out in January, to lower the salary bill. One of those will be Junior Firpo. The Blaugrana are getting offers for the left back and Inter Milan are well placed to take him. They are looking for a left-back and want him for either six months or a year and a half on loan, with an option to buy. In the summer they were close but with Barca's attempt to sign Lautaro Martinez failing, the Firpo deal broke down too.

Junior has barely featured under Koeman - or Setien or Valverde before him - and the Dutchman has even preferred to use Sergino Dest there out of position than play Firpo. Atalanta and Napoli wanted him previously but the deal did not happen. Barca had prioritised a sale, for over 22 million euros. Betis get 10 per cent of any fee.

Barca don't want a replacement for Firpo. As well as Dest, Alex Balde from the youth academy is playing very well and could be a back up. At the club they believe Balde will go on to be Barca's left back.
