The Italian club are looking for low-cost options to improve their centre-back pool

Inter Milan and Barcelona have been talking since January about possible operations between clubs that are favourable to the interests of all involved. If in the January window, the Italian club asked for Franck Kessié and an exchange with Brozovic was studied. In their more recent visit to Barcelona, Inter's delegates showed an interest in centre-backs who will leave the Blaugrana this summer.

Inter's sporting director, Piero Ausilio, enquired about Clement Lenglet, Samuel Umtiti and Eric Garcia. They need to bring in two defenders this summer and they have very little money to invest, so they are looking for opportunities for players who are going to be discarded.

With Lenglet, the issue is complicated because Tottenham are already negotiating a transfer with Barça and things are going well. Umtiti would be a good fit if Inter can reach an agreement with the player and leave some money in the kitty, while Eric Garcia is also difficult because the player has no intention of leaving Spotify Camp Nou at the moment.

It is very likely that negotiations will progress in the coming weeks and it would not be ruled out that a deal could involve an exchange of players.
