Inter and Barcelona continue to explore exchanges for Franck Kessie

The midfielder is one of the players Barcelona are keen to move on this summer

The moment of truth has arrived and Barcelona's sporting department face the tremendous challenge of selling several players in order to bring in enough money to implement the famous financial plan presented to LaLiga. Sales are more necessary than ever and, despite the fact that there are important offers, for now only the sales of Umtiti and Lenglet before 30 June are clear.

The machinery is fully underway with the aim of selling Ansu Fati and Ferrán Torres and also completing the transfer of Frank Kessié, a player who still has a high market value. The Ivorian midfielder wants to continue but in the event of a departure, he would like to have a say in deciding his next destination. And everything indicates that he would feel much more comfortable returning to Italy to play for Inter.

Barça's problem with Kessié is that the Italian clubs are almost broke and are not going to invest hard cash this summer. Neither Inter, nor Milan, nor Juventus will spend big money, so they are looking for formulas that are economically attractive to the Blaugrana. And, with Inter, player exchanges continue to be explored.

In recent weeks there have been talks and Barça have rejected two exchange proposals: one was for Joaquín Correa and the other for Denzel Dumfries, an attacking full-back who is highly sought after. At Barça, they see him as too attacking a player and the move has come to a standstill. If there is no other option, Barça could accept Brozovic but there are many doubts about the operation as the priority is to sign other midfielders for the new project.

Inter have asked for more time and next week, after the Champions League final, there will be a meeting between the two clubs to make a final decision. Kessié must leave in the next three weeks and if Inter cannot find the formula, he will look for another destination.

In fact, Barça are shipping Kessié around the Premier League and the Bundesliga. The priority is to find a club that will pay a minimum of 35 million euros. There has been speculation about Liverpool, but Tottenham seem to be in a better position. In any case, it will have to be a club that offers Kessié the chance to play in European competition. And that is not easy at the moment.

The club is putting a lot of pressure on the players who have to leave and on the people around them. Nobody wants to leave Barça, but those who have been singled out are not going to have any other option. In other circumstances, Barça would be more permissive but the need is pressing because if they want to sign, they have to sell. Kessié could be the first to leave.
