Improving Antoine Griezmann on a rising line
He said he is connecting better with Messi and Suarez
Antoine Griezmann is improving. He scored against Mallorca in the 5-2 win and clicked with Messi and Suarez more. A useful skill he has is scoring the first goal.
He did it for Barca against Real Betis, Villarreal, Eibar and now last night, in the seventh minute - the second quickest he's scored for Barca after netting against Villarreal in the sixth.
Messi and Suarez have opened the scoring in three games each for Barca, Ansu Fati in two and Lenglet in one.
The No 17 largely seems to play on the left and he is learning how to function there in terms of movement. Valverde has said, more than once, "good players understand each other. Griezmann moves with speed and uses the spaces well." He's also good when it comes to pressing, working hard in a high block as well as a low one.
His best self is slowly taking shape. Griezmann said, of his goal: "I saw the space in front, I broke free for Marc - who's a midfielder for us - and with the control I left myself one-on-one. I had time to think how I wanted to finish."
