Ilaix Moriba will play for Barcelona B against Alcoyano on Saturday
The midfielder will get some minutes in the game at the Johan Cruyff stadium
Ilaix Moriba trained with Barcelona B on Friday in preparation for their game against Alcoyano on Saturday the Johan Cruyff stadium (18h, BarçaTV & Esport3).
The midfielder, now in the first team dynamic, will drop down to play for the B team to help them in the second phase of their promotion push.
Coach Garcia Pimienta, who is proud of Ilaix's progress to the first team, has assured that he "is a young kid who needs to play and has earned the right to be involved with the first team" but that "he has to show every day that he's ready to play for the first team and that passes through doing it for the reserves, too."
After finishing in the top three of the regular season, Barça B are now in the six-team promotion group as they aim to return to the second tier of Spanish football. The top three will progress to the promotion playoffs automatically and the fourth-placed team could, too, if they are the best fourth-placed team of the five regional promotion groups.
