If no one matches Barcelona's asking price for Munir, he'll sign a new deal at the club

Munir's future remains unclear. The Spanish footballer, who spent last year on loan at Alaves, doesn't know where he will be playing next season. There are various options available and all of which were discussed in a meeting between the player's representatives and the club yesterday.

Barcelona have offered Munir two options: he's either sold for anywhere between €15m-€20m or he signs a new deal. You need to remember that Munir's contract expires on 30th June 2019 and Barcelona want to sell him now or tie him to a longer deal to make a return on their investment further down the line. The chance of Munir playing a part in Barcelona's squad next season, for now, has been discarded.

Munir himself would love to at least complete the preseason schedule with Barcelona to show Ernesto Valverde that he could be a useful player in the squad. However the club's current plans for him are very different. In fact, Barcelona want to resolve the player's situation before preseason training begins.

In the meeting between Munir's representatives and the club, Barcelona informed them that Real Betis are interested in Munir. The problem is that up until now it is only that, interest, and no official bid has been made. Barcelona confirmed that they would meet with Munir's entourage again at an unspecified date to discuss any future offers which might come in for the player.

Alaves are waiting to see what happens and, after Munir scored 14 goals for them last season, would love the opportunity to take him on loan again for the upcoming campaign.
