The player's representatives came to town on Thursday to speak to the Barca chief

This Thursday morning could be a big one in Barcelona’s history. SPORT revealed that Haaland’s father and Mino Raiola were in the Catalan capital to meet with Barcelona president Joan Laporta. They arrived at 9.30 am from Nice.

Both were planning to meet the Barca chief and sporting director Mateu Alemany, the director of football. The meeting was programmed back when Laporta won the presidency. They wanted it to be confidential out of respect for Borussia Dortmund but were captured at the airport. They were met by Laporta’s right-hand man Eduard and got in different cars to head to their destination.

At the meeting they spoke about Barca’s intentions to sign the Norwegian forward. Laporta said to Haaland’s people during the campaign that if he won he would try and sign the striker. He was informed about the economic conditions of the signing back then, but he wanted a face-to-face meeting with those managing his future.

Raiola and the father were open to him coming to Barcelona but it will depend on the final price that Borussia Dortmund put on the striker. The Blaugrana are convinced his salary will not be an issue. The meeting lasted around two hours and the agent and player’s father have already left Barcelona.

Many teams are interested in Haaland, including Man City, who are the toughest opponent. The decision of the player will be key and it’s expected he will communicate it in June.
