How Barcelona can raise the money to sign Erling Haaland

Trincao, Coutinho and Griezmann could bring in valuable cash for the club

Erling Haaland is Barcelona's No.1 target for the summer. The Borussia Dortmund striker has decided to take the next step in his career and wants to sign for one of Europe's biggest clubs. Barça are well-positioned to sign him.

Everyone knows that Barça are going through one of the most difficult moments financially in the club's history, but they feel the arrival of Haaland is a priority to help kick-start the sporting project next season. Despite a potential transfer costing as much as €200 million, at Camp Nou they don't feel the deal is a utopia.

It's known that Barça have the credit to invest in a top signing, but the club are also working the numbers on the money they could bring in from players currently out on loan. In total, they could bring in €110m if all the options to buy are executed this summer.

Francisco Trincao

After a season at Barça, he left for Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan last summer. He joined Barça for €31m from Braga and is on loan until the end of the season. Wolves have an option to buy for €30m. It's not obligatory. However, if they don't take it up, they will have to pay Barça €6m. He's played 18 of Wolves's 23 games this season, 12 as a starter, and scored one goal.

Antoine Griezmann

The Frenchman left Barça at the end of the summer transfer window, returning to Atletico, with Barça signing Luuk de Jong. Both deals were loans. Atletico paid €10m to borrow Griezmann this season and have an obligatory purchase clause of €50m in the event he plays 50 percent of the games he's available for. So far, he's played in the 22 games he's been available for. The €40m will be paid to Barça at the end of the two-year loan, in June 2023.

Philippe Coutinho

The Brazilian left Camp Nou for Aston Villa last week, scoring on his debut against Manchester United. He's on loan until the end of the season when the Premier League side have an option to make the move permanent for €40m.

Pjanic & Collado

Barça have two more players out on loan: Miralem Pjanic and Alex Collado. The Bosnian ended up in Besiktas but the Turkish side don't have a clause to make the move permanent. However, Barça are likely to look for a move when he returns. Meanwhile, Collado joined Granada on loan this month with the aim of getting regular minutes in LaLiga before returning to try and win a place in Xavi Hernandez's side.
