Here is how the opening weekend of LaLiga fixtures looks
The judge has announced that matches can take place on Friday but not Monday
The opening weekend of the 2019/20 LaLiga season has been changed once again but it will still begin on Friday 16th August when FC Barcelona take on Athletic Club (21:00, local time). Espanyol will begin on Sunday 18th at home to Sevilla (19:00, local time).
Athletic-Barça was originally scheduled for Friday but later the competition ruled matches were to only take place on Saturday and Sunday. That has now been changed back to the original date.
The latest ruling permits matches to be played on Friday evenings but not on Mondays.
