The Portugal midfielder could leave Manchester City this summer

Bernardo Silva continues to be linked with a possible move to Barcelona this summer. According to Sam Lee, the journalist who covers Manchester City for The Athletic, the Portugal midfielder is ready for a change of scenery and likes the idea of moving to Barça, while Pep Guardiola has doubts about whether he would let the player leave or not.

Silva's case is unusual, as the reality is he's had an important role this season. He has played 45 times and been a starter on all the big Champions League nights. However, in England, there are reports that since last summer he's been considering a transfer that has not yet come to fruition. Meanwhile, Guardiola's used him a lot but wouldn't see him as untouchable, so could accept an exit.

According to The Athletic, Guardiola even has doubts about whether or not to open the door for the midfielder to go. He values his quality but at the same time feels his sale could help strengthen other positions, other priorities. As of now, Guradiola will have to decide between Silva and Raheem Sterling. The latter could leave as part of a deal for Harry Kane.

In any case, and with possible exchanges with Barça aside, the reality is that Silva's future is edging away from England. If Guardiola gives the green light, it remains to be seen if Barça will be able to make a satisfactory offer for him. After missing out on Wijnaldum, they are in the market for a midfielder and Silva, 26, valued at 70 million euros, could add quality to Ronald Koeman's side.
