Antoine Griezmann's camp met with Barcelona's directors on Tuesday after his fine performance against Villarreal, according to French newspaper L'Equipe, who say the forward is now much calmer about his future at the club.
Griezmann will not leave Barcelona this summer. That's the conclusion reached in the meeting. "We are massively counting on you," was the word from the club's hierarchy.
In said meeting, Griezmann was not alone. He was also accompanied by his sister -- who is also his agent -- among others.
Griezmann has had problems adapting and integrating into Barça's system and his best display only arrived this past weekend in the 4-1 win over Villarreal, when he scored a chip.
The Barça representatives at the meeting, including sporting director Eric Abidal, sent a message of confidence to Griezmann, according to L'Equipe.
That has calmed the forward and his camp after three games in four on the bench prior to the Villarreal win.
Barça are convinced that Griezmann, who has a deal until 2024, will be much better in his second season having had a year to bed in at Camp Nou.
