Griezmann: I've taken the decision to leave, I need to see other things
The France forward has confirmed he will move on in the summer
Antoine Griezmann has explained to Atletico Madrid fans why the time has come to leave the club this summer.
Atletico confirmed on Tuesday that Griezmann will leave at the end of the season and the France international posted a video shortly after.
"After speaking with Cholo [Simeone], then with Miguel Angel [Gil] and the people in the hierarchy of the club I wanted to speak with you, the fans, who have always given me a lot of love," he began.
"[I want] to tell you I have taken the decision to leave. To see other things, to have other challenges. The truth is it has been difficult to take this path but it is what I feel I need. I would like to thank all of you for the love you have shown me during these five years.
"During those years I won my first important trophies with the club. There have been incredible moments that I will always remember. The truth is, I take you in my heart. It is not easy for a player to have so much love and that is why I wanted to tell you today, so that you are the first ones to know after the coach and the club."
He finished: "Thank you for everything... They have been five amazing years in which I have left everything on the pitch."
