Griezmann is a target for Barcelona and could join in the summer
Antoine Griezmann's future couldn't not come up as Ernesto Valverde previewed Barcelona's game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.
Griezmann has scored seven goals in his last two league games but has never scored at Camp Nou before.
Asked if he'd like the French forward to save his goals at Camp Nou for next season, when he could be in a Barça shirt, Valverde gave a typically cautious response.
"I can’t read the future," the coach said. "I would prefer him to reserve his goals for another game, though. [Griezmann] is a great player in a great moment of form (…) but he plays for Atletico Madrid.
"[On Sunday] he will be one of their strong points. We hope he doesn’t score. We’re aware of the threat he carries."
Pressed on if he would like Griezmann on his team next season, Valverde added: "Like I said, he is a great player, there is no doubt about that, in great form -- he scored four goals in midweek, three before that last weekend.
"But I am not going to speak about a player in another team, it wouldn’t be right, especially the day before playing them."
