"We had a meeting this Monday in Porto Alegre," a club exec confirmed

Arthur has been followed by Barcelona for a while and talks are advancing

Gremio executive André Zanotta believes Arthur will be a Barcelona player next week after the latest meeting over the midfielder's future.

"We had a meeting this Monday in Porto Alegre. Things are on track, they have moved on a lot. We're ready to reach an agreement, but we don't think there will be a positive outcome until next week," André Zanotta said.

Barça want to wrap up the deal as soon as possible. They have put a lot of faith in the Brazilian and, in principle, will count on him in the first team from the beginning of 2019.

Arthur is a midfield player who stands out for his technique and vision, especially in short spaced. With other clubs interested, Barça want things tied up, as was the case with Yerry Mina.

"THINGS ARE ON THE RIGHT PATH"

Arthur, meanwhile, is clear that his future is at Camp Nou, but in his most recent comments he exercised prudence

"There's interest, things are on the right path," he said. "But I am a Gremio player and I have a deal with Gremio. There is a link with Barcelona and yes, there's interest (...) It has to be good business for all three parties."
