A video has emerged of the defender talking to supporters on Sunday
The Antoine Griezmann soap opera continues. The player published an image online kissing the Europa League trophy, adding two love heart emojis.
Meanwhile, a video has emerged of the France star's appearance at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday. The home fans were jeering him but Diego Godin goes over to some of the supporters and tells them: "Stop whistling [Griezmann], he's going to stay, OK?"
Griezmann was being given some harsh treatment by his own supporters against Eibar because they believe he will leave for Barcelona this summer.
It's impossible to know if Godin's words were born from knowledge but it did help to ease the atmosphere inside the stadium, which had made Griezmann visibly upset.
The Atletico front man has said that he wants his future solved before the World Cup, with Barça hopeful of landing him for his 100 million euro release clause.
