The young stopper is tipped to have a big future but must bide his time

Barcelona will have to make a decision on Iñaki Peña's future this summer as the club decide how best to manage the young goalkeeper's future.

Everything suggests that the youngster will be loaned out to a second division club in order to play regular football. The idea is to tie his long-term future down to Barça but for him to keep progressing elsewhere. He will only remain at Camp Nou if Neto is sold and Barça do not sign a replacement.

Barça have a lot of confidence in Peña. In fact, last summer, they seriously thought about promoting him to No.2 when Jasper Cillessen was sold. In the end, they signed Neto.

Peña had offers to leave in January but Barça kept him with the intention of helping Barça B get back into the second tier of Spanish football. With the season halted, it's unlikely they will get promoted now.

The club will look to extend his deal beyond 2021 before sending him out on loan. Quique Setien likes him a lot and there are big hopes for his future.
