Goalkeeper Iñaki Peña is promoted from Barça B to the first team
With Marc-Andre ter Stegen ruled out until November, Peña will officially be part of the first team squad next season
Iñaki Peña, who has been the number one goalkeeper for Barça B the last two seasons, is now officially being promoted to the first team. This was always the plan but with Marc-Andre ter Stegen ruled out until November, those plans have now been brought forward. Alex Ruiz will replace him in the B squad.
Peña was today named in Spain's U21 side and there were suggestions he might be sold if Barça couldn't find a buyer for Neto. However, ter Stegen's injury means he will be needed immediately in the first-team picture. Peña and Neto will battle it out for a starting spot until the German returns from his knee injury.

Born in May 2001, Alex Ruiz arrives at the club from DAMM after his Juvenil contract expired there. He'll be the side's third-choice goalkeeper behind Carevic and Arnau Tenas.
This means the goalkeeper situation is sorted at Barça B but it promises to be a summer of change for the second team too. Many players don't want to spend another season in Segunda B and will be looking for a temporary or permanent change of scenery.
