Getafe 0-0 Barcelona: Draw of convenience helps both sides meet their goals
There was nothing to write home about but Barcelona finish second and Getafe stay up
A point was the mission, for both Barcelona and Getafe. A point to virtually lock in second place in La Liga, a point to secure survival for another season. And as such, the game was played out like the match that you’d expect between two teams happy with the score at the start being the score at the end.
There were very few chances of note in the first half, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s backheel for Ferran Torres leading to one, but the Spaniard fired high over the crossbar.
At the other end, Marc-Andre ter Stegen fumbled a cross which caused a brief moment of excitement, but the situation was soon cleared up.
Oscar Mingueza and Clement Lenglet formed the heart of a lesser-spotted defence, and the former in particular was solid.
Alejandro Balde also began at left-back with Jordi Alba out, and his game was decent too, albeit without any particularly memorable moments.
In fact, none of this will be remembered, with the second half similarly quiet.
Ansu Fati came on for Aubameyang for the final half hour but even Barcelona’s star boy could not liven up the game.
However, Barcelona got the job done - and so did Getafe, with their players celebrating at full-time.
Solo ha tenido que intervenir en un disparo lejano de Aleñá. Por lo demás, un par de acciones con su habitual sangre fría y acierto en el pase.
Con el Barça dueño de la posesión y en ataques posicionales, el brasileño ha jugado a su antojo. Combinando, metiéndose por dentro. Ha puesto un centro peligroso. En defensa apenas ha sufrido.
Con el nulo ritmo de partidos que llevaba, poco se le puede achacar al de Santa Perpètua. Bien en la entrega, sin cometer casi errores. Poca exigencia, eso sí.
Igual que Mingueza, llevaba mucho tiempo sin tener protagonismo. Ha ejercido como líder en el eje de la zaga, ha cometido algún error, pero en general bastante aceptable.
Desde el pasado diciembre no le veíamos con el primer equipo. Ha aplicado su dosis de potencia, ha dado amplitud, pero quizás un punto acelerado en sus centros.
Apenas ha tenido que hacer sprints el de Badia. Jugando con las pulsaciones bajísimas, entregando e intentando dar sentido al juego. Correcto.
Se ha dejado llevar por el ritmo 'caribeño' del partido en el Coliséum. Ha intentado liderar alguna presión intensa, pero en general no ayudaba el entorno.
Muchos contactos con el balón del de Matadepera. Se le ha notado con ganas de ser protagonista, se ha ofrecido y ha dado un par de pases interesantes en 3/4 de campo.
Así como en sus últimas apariciones había sido de los más destacados y enchufados, poco nos ha dejado el neerlandés. Sin desborde, previsible.
Ha puesto un centro buenísimo a Aubameyang en los primeros compases. Se le veía eléctrico en la banda derecha, pero se ha ido diluyendo.
No ha comparecido prácticamente el gabonés. No le han llegado casi balones y no se ha asociado apenas con sus compañeros en el tridente de ataque.
