Getafe 0-0 Barcelona: Back-to-back goalless draws slow down title charge

Xavi's side have now failed to score in their last two league games

Barcelona drew 0-0 with Getafe at the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez on Sunday as their LaLiga form continues to stutter.

Xavi Hernandez's side remain 11 points clear of Real Madrid but they have now been held to goalless draws in each of their last two league games.

Raphinha and Alejandro Balde both his the post in the first half after Munir had headed wide for Getafe early on.

David Soria saved from Robert Lewandowski just before the break and late on from Raphinha as Getafe held on to move four points clear of the relegation zone.

They could have even won it late on when striker Borja Mayoral struck wide on the break.

Xavi had opted to return to Sergi Roberto to right-back for the game with Balde picked ahead of Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres on the left with Jordi Alba at left-back.

Roberto's game -- and possibly season -- ended after 15 minutes, though, when Eric Garcia replaced him due to a muscle injury.

By that point, Munir had already headed Mayoral's cross wide.

Barca then had two great chances in a matter of seconds. Raphinha hit the woodwork after racing through and Balde then sent the rebound against the same post -- he should have done better.

Lewandowski's header was saved by Soria on the stroke of half-time but Barca were far from their best in the opening 45.

They didn't improve after the break, either, in a game lacking in quality. Ansu came on for his 100th Barca appearance and Ferran was also introduced but there was no breakthrough.

Raphinha forced Soria into another save but when the Brazilian was then taken off, he threw a massive strop on the bench.

Barca's lead at the top should see them clinch their first LaLiga title since 2019 but they will be tested again next week when they host in-form Atletico Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou.
