The defender mocked Barcelona's beaten quarter-final opponents

Gerard Pique, FC Barcelona defender, spoke to the media after Barcelona beat Espanyol in the Copa del Rey quarter-final. He mocked them by referring to them as "Espanyol from Cornella".

"We did not suffer," said Pique "At Cornella they made thigns hard but we started well and were solid at the back. The 2-0 got us through and generally we had a good game.

"As we know, Espanyol from Cornella always come to Camp Nou to shut up shop. We were able to score a goal quickly, we didn't suffer. To play against Espanyol from Cornella is always an occasion. There they won 1-0 and they had their week of glory, but in the end we went through."

Asked about why he called them Espanyol from Cornella, Pique replied: "They play in Cornella," grinning.
