Gerard Pique is in line to make his 350th La Liga appearance in a Barcelona shirt on Saturday against Getafe -- and if he plays 90 minutes, he will have completed 300 of those games!
Pique's the eighth Barcelona player to reach the milestone. Ahead of him is Sergio Busquets, who will make his 383rd La Liga appearance for the club against Getafe if he plays.
Catalan defender Pique made his debut for Barça in a Champions League qualifier in August 2008 but his La Liga bow came a month later, on Sept. 13, in a game at Camp Nou against Racing (1-1). He was on the bench for the first game of the season, with Marquez and Puyol picked ahead of him.
His debut against Racing came at the age of 21 but he'd already debuted in La Liga as a 19-year-old while on loan from Manchester United at Real Zaragoza. He formed an impressive defensive partnership there with Gaby Milito and the two would be reunited at Camp Nou years later. Pique played 22 league games for Zaragoza.
Another 349 have now come with Barcelona. Of those games, he has won 261, drawn 59 and lost just 29. He started 336 of them and played the full 90 in 299 of them. He's accumulated 29,826 minutes and scored 28 goals. There have been 94 yellow cards and six red cards.
With 12 seasons under his belt, he has won eight La Liga titles: three with Pep Guardiola, one with Tito Vilanova, two with Luis Enrique and two with Ernesto Valverde.
Pique has a contract until 2022 (he signed his last deal in January 2018) and a 500 million euro release clause.
