The defender is out of Sunday's game against Las Palmas

He should be fine for next weekend's final fixture vs. Eibar

Gerard Pique has returned home after spending Saturday night in hospital in Vall d'Hebron due to "general sickness and stomach pain."

The Catalan defender was given the green light to leave hospital on Sunday morning, as confirmed in a statement released by Barcelona.

Pique will continue to be treated at his home in his bid to get back to 100 percent from the stomach virus which left him unable to train last week.

As a result, he was unable to travel to Las Palmas with his team-mates on Sunday, with Marlon Santos called up to take his place in the squad for the penultimare league game of the campaign.

The Spain international was last seen at the Madrid Open at the beginning of the week, where he spent some time watching tennis after being given a few days off by Luis Enrique.

According to the club's statement, the player's evolution will mark his recovery time, but he should be fine for the Eibar game next weekend.
