Gerard Pique enters the special 500 club
The defender is poised to play his 500th game for Barcelona
Gerard Pique will play his 500th Barcelona game on Sunday against Real Betis, entering the 500 club along with Xavi Hernández (767), Leo Messi (697), Andrés Iniesta (674), Puyol (593), Miguel Bernardo 'Migueli' (549), Víctor Valdés (535) and Sergio Busquets (528).
The defender debuted under Pep Guardiola on August 13, 2008, in the first leg of the Champions League qualifiers at Wisla Krakow (0-4).
From then he disputed 312 La Liga matches, 107 Champions League games, 59 Copa del Rey clashes, 14 in the Spanish Super Cup, 5 Club World Cup occasions and two European Super Cup matches.
Pique has also scored 46 goals (27 in LaLiga Santander, 12 in the Champions League, 6 in the Copa del Rey and 1 in the Spanish Super Cup).
His 12 UCL goals make him the fourth highest goalscoring defender in the competition, behind Ronald Koeman, Ivan Helguera (13 each) and Roberto Carlos (16).
Pique has won 29 titles - 8 Ligas, 3 Champions League, 6 Copas del Rey, 3 European Super Cups, 3 Club World Cups and 6 Spanish Super Cups.
