Against Elche he tried a new pairing he has not used yet this season, in Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti.
The Frenchman missed the first 15 games of the season injured, during which Pique started with Clement Lenglet.
The Catalan was injured himself on November 21 against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano and Umtiti got medical clearance to play two weeks later.
Now Pique is fit again and against PSG and Cadiz he was paired with Lenglet, although the Frenchman performed poorly in both games.
Umtiti and Pique kept it tight at the back against Elche and kept a clean sheet in the 3-0 win.
