The 17-year-old netted his first goal for the club against Elche on Saturday

Barcelona midfielder Gavi scored his first goal for the club on Saturday in the game against Elche. After becoming a regular in the first team this season and being called up for Spain, the academy product's first goal arrived at the age of 17 years and 135 days.

Gavi, who is one of the club's big hopes in the post-Lionel Messi era, becomes the third youngest scorer in the club's history after Ansu Fati (16 years and 304 days) and Bojan Krkic (17 years and 53 days).

Therefore, he has surpassed Messi in the rankings. Messi's first Barça goal came when he was 17 years and 331 days old. He has now been knocked off the podium.

Gavi is one of several youngsters to have broken into the team in recent seasons. Ansu and Nico Gonzalez are others, while the likes of Pedri and Abde have come in from elsewhere.

So far, Gavi has played 21 times this season for the first team, with one goal and two assists coming in that time. Despite his age, he's a key player already.
