Gavi is among the ten nominees for France Football's Kopa award for the best young player of the year.
Gavi has had a dazzling progression through the ranks and is now in FC Barcelona's first team. He is among the ten nominees for France Football's Kopa award for the best young player of the year. He stands as one of the favourites to win this prestigious award, which is presented to the U21 player who has excelled the most over the past year.
The trophy is not particularly new at Barça, as just last year another Barça player won it. In 2021 it was Pedri González, also a Barça midfielder, who won the trophy after a spectacular year and become a permanent fixture in both Barça and the national team despite his youth.
Gavi too has become an important player for both Barça and the Spanish senior national team. His competition to win the prestigious award includes promising names like Bukayo Saka, Jude Bellingham and Eduardo Camavinga. The other candidates are Adeyemi, Gravenberch, Nuno Mendes, Musiala, Gvardiol and Florian Wirtz.
