Gary Medel: "Arturo Vidal loves Boca and is dying to go there"
The Barça midfielder is under contract at Camp Nou until 2021
Bologna defender Gary Medel says his Chile teammate Arturo Vidal is "dying" to play for Boca Juniors.
Vidal, 33, is under contract at Barcelona until 2021 but would be allowed to leave the club and Medel says he's always wanted to play for the Argentine giants.
"Vidal wants to go to Boca, with or without me,” Former Boca man Medel told Radio Continental. “He loves Boca and is dying to go there.”
Medel added: "Boca have an importance across Europe that you can't imagine. Italians know Boca, not River Plate."
With respect to his own return to Boca, he added: "I have two years on my deal at Bologna and hope to respect it. But you know how it works, one minute you're loved, the next you can be hated.
"Everything can change. I speak often with Riquelme. Once a week. He has proposed returning. When I left, I was a kid, I didn't see the size of Boca. It would be a dream to return."
