The midfielder would miss the Sevilla game if he sees yellow against Elche

Frenkie de Jong must be careful against Elche because he is one yellow card away from a suspension. The Dutch midfielder has four so far this season and if he’s booked on Wednesday night then he will miss the next game, against Sevilla on Saturday at 4.15pm.

De Jong saw his first booking against Levante at Camp Nou for fouling Dani Gomez, the second against Valladolid for a foul on Orellana. The third came against Athletic for fouling Inigo Martinez and the fourth was against Real Betis for a tackle on Nabil Fekir.

Messi is two bookings away having seen three yellows, while Pique, Griezmann and Mingueza are on two each, along with Jordi Alba, who has already missed a game for his first five.

This season Busquets has, along with Alba, been suspended for accumulating bookings.

Alba has seven in total and Busquets six.

In terms of red cards, Lenglet, Pique and Messi have all been dismissed. De La Fuente, the goalkeeping coach and Schreuder the assistant coach also saw red.
