The midfielder says he has not spoken to Valvere yet about where he will play
Frenkie de Jong has signed for Barca from Ajax and spoke about next season in an interview with Veronica Inside. Current Barca midfielder Ivan Rakitic said the Dutchman is not going to take his place in the team and De Jong was diplomatic about it.
"They told me I would sign to take one of the three midfield positions, let's see what happens. It won't be me who says in what role I want to play."
De Jong has not spoken to coach Ernesto Valverde yet.
"I haven't had any contact with him yet. You ask me if he's under pressure but that's due to the media too. However, I don't know how things are at the club. (Did he contact you during the transfer?) No, I insist I've had no contact with him."
