Frenkie de Jong: Pedri has a lot of quality, he's a crack
The Dutch midfielder praised his team-mate, who has been in special form
Frenkie de Jong, even before he set foot in Barcelona, had won over the fans. Despite some bad runs of form, and not living up to expectations, they have been patient with him. It’s logical. For his age and the investment in him, the way he played at Ajax. And with Ronald Koeman on the bench we’re starting to see the best version of the midfielder so far at Barca.
His improvement may well have something to do with those around him. Pedri hasn’t just become a good team-mate for Messi but for De Jong too.
“I think Pedri has a lot of talent, a lot of quality and for me, he’s a crack,” said De Jong of the youngster.
On Barca, he added: “I always think we’re united but it’s true that since the start of the new year we’ve been better, yes.
“There’s been a lot of changes at the club since the start of the season, but bit by bit we are improving. We had no pre-season.
