Frenkie de Jong explains his improvement in form for Barca
Ronald Koeman has brought the midfielder forward and given him more attacking responsibility
Frenkie de Jong spoke ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final clash with Real Sociedad. He has found some of his best form for Barca in recent weeks.
“I feel very good at the moment individually and in the team, we are improving,” said De Jong.
“In the last few games I’ve played in a different position to the start of the season. Now I’m further forward. The coach wants more from me in attack and now I feel more comfortable.”
The midfielder is hoping to win his first trophy for the Blaugrana this week.
“I don’t know if we’re favourites, but when you play for Barca in any league, cup or competition you are always one of the favourites and we really want to win this cup,” said De Jong.
“First we have to beat Real tomorrow. I think they are a very good team, they play it out well, they have a good structure and quality players. It will be a hard game for us but we have to get to the final.”
