The Dutchman's agent, Ali Dursun, commented on a post of the player while training in the Barça shirt.
The continuity of Frenkie De Jong in Barça seems likely to remain unresolved until August 31, when the transfer window closes in Spain. The Dutchman does not want to leave 'the club he loves', especially not for the Premier League. Even knowing that this season his chances will be drastically reduced thanks to Pedri, Gavi, Busquets and Kessié, he has shown that he is eager to stay fit and compete.
Aware of the situation, several European clubs contacted Barça this summer for the Dutch international. The first was Manchester United, which reached an agreement with Barça for 80 million euros, followed by Chelsea as well, but the player refused either. Bayern also tried to sign him, without success.
Earlier in the day, the player posted a photo of himself on Instagram with the FC Barcelona training shirt, to which his agent, Ali Dursun, gave a 'like', as well as a comment with a flame and a heart. He supports the player's decision, and the post adds more question marks over his departure.
Both Xavi and Joan Laporta acknowledge Frenkie's skill as a player and like him a lot, but due to the current economic constraints of the club continuity has become complicated.
The player's post on his Instagram is a clear sign of his commitment. Ali Dursun's response also shows he is supporting the will of his client and encouraging him to continue where he is happy. It is yet another sign that Frenkie has no plans to leave Barça this summer, and that his agent, too, does not want it. But anything can happen, especially in a market window as wild as this one, so until the market closes nothing is certain.
