Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé opens up about his ideal position

In an interview with 'RMC', the Barça forward said that his true position is that of '10'.

When we think of Dembélé, the image of a natural winger comes to mind, someone who can play on both flanks thanks to his dribbling and two-footedness.

Even so, this has not always been his position. The player himself does not believe that this is his ideal position.

In an interview with 'RMC Sport', the Barça forward spoke about his best position on the pitch:

"My real position is the old-fashioned number 10, but I can play on the right. The important thing is to play. Rolland Courbis (his coach at Rennes), I remember, played me as a 10, until then I played on the wing. He told me: 'This is the position you have to play in'".

The position is very similar to playing on the wing but moving towards the centre, without being tied to the touchline.

At Barça, we have always seen him play as a winger, the most typical position in the famous 4-3-3.

Regardless of the position, it is clear that Dembélé likes to play, with a preference for the right flank. Either as a '10' or as a winger. That is where he has performed at his best.

However, this year he will have to play a lot of games on the left, especially if he shares the field with Raphinha, a more pure right winger.
