Clement Lenglet could announce his decision to join Barcelona as soon as this Friday according to French media
Sevilla's defender, Clement Lenglet, could make an announcement on his future this Friday. The same way that Antoine Griezmann set a deadline for making a decision on his future, Lenglet has told Sevilla he'll let them know before the 30th June whether or not he'll sign a new contract with the club. According to various French outlets, Lenglet could make that choice as soon as this Friday, 48 hours before Barcelona are able to pay his buyout clause.
For this reason, the next few hours will be crucial when it comes to finding out what the future holds for the French defender. He has an offer on the table to renew with Sevilla as well as an offer from Barcelona, plus some others from European sides. At the moment we need to wait and see if Lenglet accepts Sevilla's offer or not.
If he doesn't, then it'll open the door to a wide variety of options and negotiations. Barcelona would seemingly be best placed should Lenglet decide to leave Sevilla and are ready to pay his €35m buyout clause on the 1st July.
Regardless of what Lenglet announces on Friday, Sevilla are planning for him to join up for preseason training with them on the 3rd July.
